The story of Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess in NYC, who is optimistic and always searching for love despite a string of bad relationships. The musical follws her misadventures as she encounters various men, including a famous move star and a shy accountant, ultimately grappling with her hopes and disappointments in love.
